Big Dog Shred Bins USA Inc., Lakeside, Calif., has announced the launch of its “Big Dog Alternative” line of shredding bins. The company manufactures shredding consoles in addition to providing what it describes as “cost-effective” resin shred carts and bins.

Komptech USA , based in Westminster, Colo., has added Powerscreen Florida as its dealer in the Southeastern U.S. and the Caribbean. Powerscreen, which is a manufacturer of mobile crushing, screening and washing machinery for the quarrying, mining and recycling industries, will add Komptech’s line of screeners, shredders and compost turners to its portfolio.

All Source Security Container USA held a ceremony in late May 2011 to dedicate its new warehouse in Irving, Texas. According to a news release issued by All Source, “Document destruction shredding companies, record management companies, suppliers and local businesses gathered for the ribbon ceremony at the grand opening.” Pete Pancel, All Source president and general manager, was joined at the event by members of the Canadian/American Chamber of Commerce and the Irving Chamber of Commerce “Texas asked for it and we delivered on it,” said Pancel, who said the facility will supply “everyday low prices on the highest quality security containers in the document destruction industry, readily available, in any quantity”. The Irving location is part of a larger North American distribution and logistics network operated by All Source.

USA Recycling Industries Inc., based in Reading, Pa., has signed a letter of intent to acquire a 51 percent interest in Earth Metal Scrap USA Inc., a New York-based exporting firm with facilities in India and Dubai. USA Recycling, formerly known as Voyager Petroleum Inc., is a scrap metals recycler servicing the automotive service center chain store industry. In an announcement, USA Recycling says that it expects to close the deal “no later than 14 days from the date of the Letter of Intent.” As for taking a majority stake in Earth Metals, Vincent Smith, USA Recycling’s CEO, says, “The agreement with Earth Metal Scrap USA allows the company to have significant access to end users and considerable pricing advantages when negotiating within the international scrap metal trading markets.” “This arrangement provides our international consumers with direct access to a large North American scrap metal auto parts supplier with a high-quality, on-going stream of foundry-grade materials,” adds Kamal Patel, Earth Metal Scrap’s CEO.
