Missouri AG Files Restraining Order Against Company Over Demolition Project
Posted on December 1st, 2011 No commentsMissouri Attorney General Chris Koster has announed his office has obtained a temporary restraining order against Didion Land Project Association LLC and its owners and operators, Thomas Stewart and Daniel Fetsch, for violating the Missouri Hazardous Waste Management Law, the Missouri Solid Waste Law and the Missouri Clean Water Law. In a press release from the AG’s office, Koster claims the defendants operated the Didion and Sons Foundry in St. Peters, Mo., beginning around April 2009.

Study Finds Nonrecycled Plastics Can Fuel Alternative Energy Industry
Posted on November 3rd, 2011 No commentsA new study conducted by the Earth Engineering Center (EEC) of Columbia University, New York, and sponsored by the American Chemistry Council (ACC), Washington, D.C., has found that converting the nonrecycled plastics that are currently landfilled each year in the United States to energy using currently available technologies could provide at least enough energy to fuel 6 million cars annually.

Indorama Acquiring European Plastics Recycling Firm

Ltd., based in Bangkok, has signed an agreement with WIT Beteiligungs GmbH and Wellman International Trading, affiliates of the holding company Aurelius AG, to acquire a 100 percent stake in the recycling and fiber manufacturing businesses of Wellman International in Europe for around €42 million (US$56.6 million)

Cascades Inaugurates New Deinking Equipment at Quebec Paper Mill

The facility produces deinked kraft pulp, and is designed to provide the company with an improved end product while preserving jobs
