Sims Recycling Solutions Joins CAER
Posted on December 27th, 2011 No commentsThe Coalition for American Electronics Recycling (CAER) has announced that Sims Recycling Solutions, (SRS) with North American headquarters in Chicago, has joined the industry effort to support federal legislation designed to restrict export of toxic electronic scrap from the United States and to create jobs through the expansion of the domestic recycling industry. In the House of Representatives, 13 co-sponsors have announced support for the bill. With the addition of SRS, CAER’s membership includes 34 U.S.

Evraz North America Expands Leadership Staff
Posted on December 27th, 2011 No commentsThe Chicago-based steel company Evraz North America has announced the promotion of John Zanieski to the position of president of Evraz Recycling and Jacob Lubbe to the position of senior vice president, manufacturing development and supply chain. As president of Evraz Recycling, Zanieski will manage the company’s scrap procurement and recycling operations.

Severstal Columbus Launches Push-Pull Pickle Line

Ferrous Scrap Prices Stable in August
Posted on August 22nd, 2011 No commentsPrices paid by North American steel mills for ferrous scrap are remaining stable throughout the summer of 2011, with August spot prices within a few dollars of July’s figures. (Click here to view the numbers for the month.) According to the Raw Material Data Aggregation Service (RMDAS) of Management Science Associates (MSA), Pittsburgh, spot buyers in early and mid-August paid within $10 per ton of what they paid in July for all grades across all regions
