Posted on January 6th, 2012 No commentsFreedom Metals, a Louisville, Ky., scrap metal recycler, has announced the acquisition of Bates Iron and Metal, located in West Liberty, Ky. Gary Bates, former owner of Bates Iron and Metal, will join Freedom as general manager of the new facility.

Proler International Signs Deal to Acquire Walco Recycling
Posted on December 20th, 2011 No commentsProler Steel International , based in Houston, has signed a letter of intent to purchase the assets of Walco Recycling LLC, also based in Houston. According to Chris Proler, president of Proler Steel, the acquisition is part of a strategy to grow the business by increasing the company’s retail business.
