Upstate Shredding Hires Richard Kent

Upstate Shredding and Ben Weitsman & Son has named Richard Kent a new buyer of scrap metal. In addition to buying scrap metal, Kent also will also broker scrap for the export market. The company, headquartered in Owego, N.Y., processes ferrous and non-ferrous scrap through locations in New York and Pennsylvania.

Upstate Shredding Donates $25,000 to Owego, N.Y. Fire Department

Adam Weitsman, president of Upstate Shredding and Ben Weitsman & Son, Owego, N.Y., has donated $25,000 to the Owego Fire Department to help build the classroom portion of the city’s Volunteer Fire Department’s new training campus. In a release, Village Fire Chief Ed Franz says the donation is the largest the building project has received. “This donation gives us the shot in the arm needed to complete the classrooms,” Franz says.
