Empire Recycling To Open Indoor Metals Facility

Empire Recycling , a recycling company headquartered in Utica, N.Y., has received approval to open a metals recycling facility in an idled Watertown, N.Y., building. The facility, expected to open this spring, will service both peddler and industrial accounts. Executive vice president Ed Kowalsky says the purchase of the “vintage World War II 75,000-square-foot building” will allow the company to process both ferrous and nonferrous metals indoors.
