Allshred Services Receives Grant
Posted on June 2nd, 2011 No commentsAllshred Services , a secure destruction firm based in Maumee, Ohio, has purchased and installed a new dust collection system using a safety grant from the Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation. Air sample tests taken on May 3, 2011, after the mid-April installation of the system, compared with tests taken in November of 2010 show significantly lower particulate levels, which Allshred says are now well below the applicable OEL (occupational exposure level) for PNOC (particulates not otherwise classified) and the more conservative recommended level of 5 milligrams per cubic meter, which is prescribed specifically to prevent upper respiratory symptoms in paper recycling operation workers. Tom Huth, executive vice president of operations, says, “It’s a relief to have the breathing zones of our workers improved significantly with the addition of the dust collection system.
