TCEQ Program Tallies Consumer Participation in Computer Recycling
Posted on February 26th, 2011 No commentsThe Texas Commission on Environmental Quality has announced the results of the second year of its computer collection and recycling program. The program requires computer manufacturers selling equipment in the state to offer free recycling for their equipment. As part of the program, in 2010 manufacturers collected for reuse or recycling 24.3 million pounds of computer equipment, close to twice the amount collected last year

Posted on May 9th, 2009 No commentsA hacker — or a group of hackers — is attempting to hold hostage some 8 million records purportedly acquired from the Virginia Prescription Monitoring Program, according to ransom note posted to the program’s Web site on April 30. Few statements have been released by Virginia state authorities, other than ID theft warnings.
