Cronimet Poland, headquartered in Onowroclaw, Poland, has announced plans to open a new facility at the port of Szczecin, Poland. The new site will be used to purchase, process and trade alloyed scrap, primarily stainless steel scrap. Cronimet Poland expects the start-up of the new plant by the second half of 2012.

The Japanese company VIAM Manufacturing has announced plans to locate a plant in Manchester, Tenn., that will produce PET stable carpet fiber from clear recycled PET bottles.
