EPA Orders Grimmel Industries to Address Polluted Water Discharges

This certification program combines the Responsible Recycling (R2) practices, facilitated by the Environmental Protection Agency and key stakeholders, with the Recycling Industry Operating Standard (RIOS) certification, developed by the Institute for Scrap Recycling Industries.

Nucor Breaks Ground on Louisiana Project

The company notes that it received its air permit from the Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality in January after meeting all of the standards ensuring the facility will comply with state and federal environmental controls.

Connecticut DEP Names ERI “Covered Electronic Recycler”
Posted on March 7th, 2011 No commentsElectronic Recyclers International (ERI), based in Fresno, Calif., has received approval from the Connecticut Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) to serve as a “covered electronic recycler” under the state’s electronics recycling law. ERI will process electronic devices collected under Connecticut’s electronics recycling program at its ISO 9001- and ISO 14001-certified processing facility in Boston. “We are very proud to be able to offer our electronic waste recycling services to the great state of Connecticut,” says John Shegerian, ERI chairman and CEO.
