Harsco Corp. , Harrisburg, Pa., and energy technology company LanzaTech , founded in New Zealand, have signed an alliance to promote the capture and re-use of steel mill flue gases as a source of energy. According to Harsco, the agreement will merge its global presence in the steel industry with LanzaTech’s bioenergy technologies for reducing the carbon footprint of integrated steelmaking operations.

China Armco Metals Inc., a metal recycling company and distributor of imported metal ore, reports that it has delivered its first shipment of 150,000 metric tons of iron ore, valued at $19.8 million, from Mineracao Usiminas S.A, one of Latin America’s largest producers of steel based in Brazil.
