Proler Steel International , based in Houston, has signed a letter of intent to purchase the assets of Walco Recycling LLC, also based in Houston. According to Chris Proler, president of Proler Steel, the acquisition is part of a strategy to grow the business by increasing the company’s retail business.

Scrap Metal Services LLC (SMS) and Milestone Equipment Corp. (MEC) have announced the acquisition of 7,300 intermodal dry van trailers. SMS and MEC have created a new joint venture (JV) entity called Scrapstone Intermodal Services LLC to oversee the new fleet as well as to consider future intermodal opportunities.

Notch Road Holdings LLC, an affiliate of Baltimore Scrap Corp., headquartered in Baltimore, has signed a Letter of Intent to acquire the assets of Union Processing Corp., North Chili, N.Y. Union Processing is a scrap metal recycling company that has operated a shredder facility since 1975.
