The electronics recycling company Image Microsystems , based in Austin, Texas, has acquired a new facility in Kyle, Texas. The 100,000-square-foot plant is expected to enhance Image’s asset recovery, recycling and MicroStrate sign substrate manufacturing capabilities.

Ben Weitsman & Son, Owego, N.Y., has announced that starting Nov. 6, 2011, all of its scrap recycling facilities will be open for customers on Sunday. Previously, only Weitsman’s Scranton, Pa., scrap yard was open on Sundays.

Scrap Metal Services LLC (SMS) and Milestone Equipment Corp. (MEC) have announced the acquisition of 7,300 intermodal dry van trailers. SMS and MEC have created a new joint venture (JV) entity called Scrapstone Intermodal Services LLC to oversee the new fleet as well as to consider future intermodal opportunities.

Weis Markets has announced that it is now offering 24-pack 16.9 ounce bottles of water that are made with 100 percent PET plastic. The company says that it is the first supermarket in the country to offer the bottle.
