Posted on May 19th, 2009 No commentsThe Certification Commission for Healthcare Information Technology has approved final 2009-2010 criteria for certification of ambulatory, inpatient and emergency department electronic health records. The panel also approved criteria for its newly developed stand-alone electronic prescribing certification.

Congressional Committee Revives Data Security Legislation

The legislation could provide some useful safeguards for the privacy and security of consumer data, but the incremental nature of the potential gains highlights the need for general baseline privacy legislation.
