Eriez Purchases New Building
Posted on July 11th, 2011 No commentsErie, Pa.-based Eriez has purchased a 114,000-square-foot building in Erie, about 15 miles from its headquarters that will allow the company to build its largest, most cutting-edge and hottest selling recycling equipment in-house, rather than through sub-contractors. In a release, Tim Shuttleworth, Eriez’s president and CEO, says, “The demand for Eriez’ state-of-the-art recycling equipment has skyrocketed in recent years. Our new building will help us streamline our manufacturing processes, which will result in quicker delivery for our customers.”

Tube City IMS Lands $84 Million in Contracts
Posted on July 11th, 2011 No commentsThe mill services company Tube City IMS, a subsidiary of TMS International Corp., Pittsburgh, has secured two new contracts totaling more than $84 million in revenue over the life of the contracts at expected production levels. The contracts are for outsourced services at steel mills in Dunkerque, France and Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. Services under the seven-year oxycutting contract in Dunkerque, which began July 1, 2011, include handling, preparation and sizing of revert scrap, using Tube City IMS’ New Cut process, where scrap is processed to charging size in an enclosed environment to capture emissions from the cutting operation

Graphic Packaging Acquires Sierra Pacific Packaging

(GPH) has announced plans to acquire the assets of Sierra Pacific Packaging Inc., a producer of folding cartons, beverage carriers and corrugated boxes for the consumer products industry. GPH, headquartered in Marietta, Ga., also is a manufacturer of packaging products for the consumer products industry.
